Is an Activity assigned to me by other user also shown on my Home page under "My Upcoming and Pending Activities"?

On your Home page are shown all Activities that you are assigned to irrespective of which user assigns a certain Activity to you. Read in the manual about which tasks and events are shown on Home page. See chapter Home page.
