I want my co-worker to be assigned for a Contact.

Every entered record (Account, Contact, Task, Event, etc.) has its own assigned user. The user entering the record is assigned to it automatically. If you enter data into Produs IT and want to assign another user to it, select him from Assigned To pick list.
