====== Search ====== One of the main advantages of using Produs Information Tool is to find the information about contacts, accounts and opportunities we had entered beforehand. That is why it is very important to learn and to master successful and fast search of information which we need to work efficiently. Similarly to recording of information, there are different ways of searching for the records in PIT. If we know where to search, on which opportunity, account or on which day, it makes searching easier - we can look within a certain module or directly in the calendar. But most commonly, we use the **Global search**. ===== Global Search ===== **Global search** can be always found in the upper part of the page. {{us:slobase:manual:b_usage:detailed_search.png|}} Here you can search for records within the whole system. You can search them by complete words or part of the words. When you enter the word you are looking for, just press Enter on your keyboard or click on the orange magnifying glass. Since we are usually searching for a contact or an account name, we suggest you turn of the "Detailed search". This way the system will be searching within the modules: Leads, Accounts, Contacts and provide you immediate results. The search results will appear sorted in groups (by modules). If your search was successful you will immediately see what you were searching for. If not, than we suggest you search for different keywords or turn on the "detailed search" option. This way the system will search within all modules. The Detailed search usually lasts a few seconds longer. You can also search by entering only the beginning of the searched record. If we are searching for John Winston, writing "win" will be enough for the Contact to be found. If there are too many search hits than we specify the keywords better. If the words you are searching for are not entirely known to you, use the "%" sign. When you are not sure whether a Contact's surname in Smithson or Smithsen, just search for "Smiths%n". ===== ABC Search ===== We spoke about global search that searches for the records within the entire system. There are three other types of search within every module. One of them is **ABC Search**. {{us:slobase:manual:b_usage:abcsearch.png|}} When you click on individual letter, all the records starting with that letter will be listed. If you search within the //Accounts// module, all Accounts starting with selected letter will be listed. If you search within the //Contacts// module, all the Contacts, starting with that letter will be listed. The system will only search for the records in the chosen [[..:..:manual:b_usage:g_views |view]]. If the "Key Accounts" is chosen, the system will only search for records within that view. ===== Basic Search ===== **Basic Search** is another type of search within a specific module. Search is possible in every view of every module. Basic search is shown on the image below. {{us:slobase:manual:b_usage:basicsearch.png?450}} This search is limited to data specific for the chosen module. The system will only search in records of the chosen [[..:..:manual:b_usage:g_views |view]]. If the "Key Accounts" is chosen, the system will only search for records within that view. When searching within the modules the system will keep criteria of the last search so be careful to empty the search fields before starting a new search. ===== Advanced Search ===== There is also an **Advanced Search** within every particular module. It can be found below the basic search at the top of the page. When you click the // Advanced Search// button, a new page will open and you can search in all fields of this module. The picture below is an example of advanced search in //Accounts// module. {{us:slobase:manual:b_usage:advanced_search_eng.png?450}} The Advanced Search proves to be very useful in creating temporary views that can also be saved as favorite bookmarks in your browser. ~~ODT~~
